Mother’s Day is a time to pause, reflect, and soak up those precious moments with our little ones. Whether it’s your first Mother’s Day or one of many, it’s a day to feel appreciated and to celebrate the beautiful bond you share.
How We’re Celebrating at The Hushabye Hideaway
In our classes this week, we’ve been making and decorating beautiful keepsake cards with our babies and toddlers. There’s something so heartwarming about those tiny footprints and scribbles that make each card unique. We know that as the years pass, these little treasures will become some of your most special memories.
And the celebrations don’t stop there! On Sunday, we’re hosting two special multisensory classes at the Space Centre - a truly amazing venue with sensory resources galore! These sessions will be all about connection, fun, and making memories together in a truly unique setting (to see available spaces head to http://www.hushabyehands.co.uk/multi-sensory)
How You Can Celebrate at Home
Mother’s Day doesn’t have to be about grand gestures - it’s about spending quality time together and making special memories in simple, meaningful ways. Here are some lovely ideas to enjoy the day with your little one:
1. Get Creative with Crafts
Whether it's hand- or footprint art, fingerprint jewellery, or simple homemade cards - crafting together is not only fun but creates keepsakes you’ll treasure. Let your little one explore with paints, stickers, or even just a crayon and some paper.
2. Cuddle Up with a Story
There’s nothing better than snuggling up with a good book. Pick a favourite story or a special Mother’s Day themed book and enjoy the quiet moments of reading together.
3. Go for a Spring Walk
Fresh air, sunshine (hopefully!), and the sights and sounds of nature can be the perfect way to relax. Look for signs of spring, listen to the birds, or collect leaves and flowers as a simple sensory activity.
4. Sensory Play
If your little one loves exploring textures, set up a sensory activity like a water play tray or a bowl of coloured rice, or get out some sensory toys like coloured scarves, shakers or twinkly lights. Simple, engaging, and a lovely way to spend time together.
5. Extra Special Cuddles
Sometimes, the simplest things are the most meaningful. Whether it’s a lazy morning in bed, a contact nap, or just an extra few minutes of snuggling before bedtime, those close, quiet moments mean everything.
Whatever you do this Mother’s Day, we hope you feel loved, appreciated, and celebrated - because you are doing an amazing job!
